QUILTING

I now have all of my blocks made and now i have to piece them together, trying to figure out which pieces to put where, i am so happy with the way this is turning out, even though it is a little busy. I am starting out small, now to finish the top and then quilt that will be interesting indeed. O and i did start on the bathroom but that is as I have gotten, just a start.

LAZY WEEKEND

This was a lazy weekend for us, i mostly lounged around in the pj's all day. Tried a little quilting, made this with scraps i had and even did a little applique and embroidery to it. I am not good at this at all, but it was fun. I get so inspired by reading and looking at other blogs, I am hoping that if I keep practicing i will get better at this.

latest project

Now it all makes sense as to why i was finally able to learn to sew and crochet, it is like therapy for me now, it helps keep my mind off things. This is the latest project i am trying to finish up on I still have to attach the tabs on top so i can hang on a rod, it is a quilted Christmas card holder, it was a lot of fun making and i finally learned how to make and sew binding by hand.

i am trying my hand at quilting again, i desperately want to learn and by gally some day i will!!! i swear. here are a samle of my blocks so far, i am going to start slow and small going to make a table runner. i am terrible at cutting the squares straight, any suggestions would be greatful.

LEARNING TO QUILT

I have been trying to learn to hand quilt for some time now, i actually put it away and decided it was not for me. Yesterday I was surfing the computer and was reading several articles on quilting and decided what the heck, i will try to machine quilt and this is how it turned out. i am very happy with it even though it has several mistakes. i still have to hand stitch the binding on the back but i feel much better that i didnt let it defeat me.

QUILTING MAY NOT BE FOR ME

I am not so sure that quilting is for me, I sat down last night to start the hand quilting on the project I started and first of all I can't see to thread the darn needle and I cant get the hang of getting the stitches to look the same or straight, at this rate it will take me 5 years to complete this thing! May just stick to crocheting and little sewing projects, but you know I really hate admitting defeat! (get this from the Mattingly side) Just like having to have the last word o yes that is me for sure!
